I planned for today or at least tried. It is my 8th day and it took an incredible amount of self-control not to buy only the four items on my grocery list tonight after my 5 hours of moderate exercise. Breakfast went as planned- half a papaya, scrambled egg with onion, spinach and tomato sprinkled with parmesan cheese, and part of a corn muffin left-over from last nights, I packed 2 peanut-butter and cinnamon dusted crackers and two mini oranges and one babybel cheese for lunch and off I went. My friends offered me a cookie package with nutella – the only processed food item I have had for a week and yum.

Coming home from a fun afternoon and knowing that the milk in the fridge was on it’s last legs, having past expiration three days ago, I stopped into the local grocery for milk, a lime and a fresh Italian loaf of bread, I added tortillas to my sack, gazed longingly at the sushi and went off to check out.

I poured a glass of milk immediately at home and set to work. Carrots, bok choi, onions, broccoli, were chopped and combined with garlic and thai ginger over a heated pan. Quick stir-fry with soy sauce, sherry and a bit of brown sugar was all the patience I had in the sauce department. Rice would have been a plus but didn’t want to wait, so I just chopped the end off the loaf, added a bit of butter and sat down to eat what used to be a side as the main course.

It got a but boring, but 10 minutes later, I hit the targets for today. Here is the total: 2 fruits, 4 vegetables (1 total for the egg scramble +3 servings which I even measured this evening.) What a relief! It’s been three hours and I am going to bed before my digestive system figures out it ahs been tricked and gets hungry again.
